Australia's central bank lowers its key interest rate for the first time since November 2020.

The rate is lowered by 25 points to 4.1 percent, which is also in line with expectations.

Inflation in Australia has eased since the peak in 2022, but the central bank signals a cautious approach to further easing.

"If monetary policy is eased too much too soon, the inflation reduction may stall", the central bank writes, also warning that global outlooks are clearly uncertain.
