The person was conscious when they were taken away by an air ambulance.
One person has been taken in for questioning, but police are still searching for suspects.
It is not entirely clear where the crime scene is, but "the crime probably took place in a residence and that residence is now cordoned off for technical examination," police wrote in a statement.
The alarm came in at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The incident is being investigated as a suspected attempted murder.
