The man who attacked a social worker in Mellerud municipality suffers from a serious mental disorder, reports P4 Väst.
According to the National Board of Forensic Medicine – which has conducted a comprehensive psychiatric examination – the man is said to have suffered from a serious mental disorder both during the attack and afterwards.
The incident occurred at the social services office in Mellerud at the end of October. The man – who is in his 60s – then attacked a female social worker.
He had previously threatened to murder the woman – despite this, she was allowed to meet him alone. The woman escaped with minor injuries.
In addition to the attempted murder and threat against the social worker, the man is also suspected of having threatened two other municipal employees.
