"The explosion wave damaged the surrounding buildings, including the Ukrainian parliament's administrative buildings, where the committees and departments of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) are located," wrote the parliament's speaker Ruslan Stefantjuk on social media.
Furthermore, he writes that they are assessing the extent of the damage and the staff are doing everything "to quickly eliminate the consequences of the attack and ensure uninterrupted work" for the parliament.
A damaged building is located about 50 meters from President Volodymyr Zelensky's office and 300 meters from the parliament's main building.
According to the country's national bank, its main building was also damaged in the attack.
Russia has repeatedly threatened to attack the "center of decision-making" in Kyiv.
According to Stefantjuk, two civilians were killed in the attack.
