President Donald Trump is swinging again at the American central bank Federal Reserve. On his platform Truth Social, he claims that interest rates should be lowered.
"Interest rates should be lowered, which will go hand in hand with tariffs", Trump writes, adding "Let's Rock and Roll, America!!!”
Trump's announced tariffs have been seen by economists as something that can be inflationary, which in turn can lead to the Fed being forced to raise interest rates to get inflation down further.
