The attacks came partly against Orenburg in southern Russia, partly against Kolpino, a suburb of St. Petersburg. In both cases, drones or debris crashed into or near premises belonging to the e-commerce company Ozon.
Earlier this summer, Ukraine has frequently attacked e-commerce giant Wildberries' warehouses, citing the company's goods and deliveries as important to Russia's offensive war. And in recent days, it has been targeting smaller competitor Ozon.
In Orenburg, 300 workers were reportedly evacuated from the fires that broke out.
In Kolpino, it is said to be an 82,000-square-meter warehouse belonging to the company Logistera but located adjacent to Ozon's facilities. According to The Kyiv Post, the industrial area is important for Russia's energy industry in general, and nuclear power in particular.
During the night, there were also reports of Russian attacks on civilians in Ukraine. At least three people were reported to have been killed and dozens injured in the Zaporizhzhia area.
