Late Thursday, local time in Sweden, the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel was extended after talks in Washington. Despite the agreement, authorities in Lebanon say that at least six people were killed in attacks on Friday, spread across four different locations.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli military stated that six Hezbollah soldiers had been killed in another location - the town of Bint Jbeil - and that the movement had fired rockets at Israel.
The relationship between Israel and Lebanon has been marked by conflict for many years. The situation is complicated by the fact that the political wing of the Iranian-backed Shia militia Hezbollah is represented in Lebanon's parliament and government.
In March, Hezbollah launched rocket attacks on Israel in retaliation for Israeli and US attacks on Iran.
