The attack, which occurred in the town of Seguin, south of the capital Port-au-Prince, earlier in the week, is believed by local authorities to have been an act of revenge after a gang member was arrested.
The victims were said to be local residents, and in connection with the attack a police station and two police cars were also set on fire.
Recently, several attacks have been carried out in the area, which is at risk of falling under the control of criminal gangs. Haiti has been severely affected by violent crime for many years, and large parts of the country are controlled by armed gangs.
