The Russian drone strike was carried out in the Sumy region, which borders Russia. According to the region's military administration, two civilians were killed in the attack, less than five kilometers from the border.
A few hours earlier, the local government in Russian-annexed Crimea stated that one person had been killed in a Ukrainian drone attack.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Ukraine is rising from Saturday's widespread attacks on several cities in the country. Ten people have been confirmed dead and 67 injured, reports the Kyiv Independent.
According to the newspaper, Russia targeted cities in Ukraine with at least 47 missiles and 619 drones in connection with Saturday's attacks. Ukraine's air defense says it shot down 580 of the drones and 30 of the missiles.
