The incident occurred in the countryside, and police say a hunt for the perpetrator is underway.
“Another person has been injured in the attack in our province,” the governor’s office in the region that includes the city of Afyonkarahisar said.
The shootings took place at three locations. First, two women were found with gunshot wounds on a road. Both died of their injuries, according to the state-run Anadolu news agency.
Three more bodies were found later on Thursday in the village of Kiyir.
The area is located between Ankara and the coastal city of Izmir.
The suspected perpetrator fled by car.
