More than 110 people have been confirmed dead in central Nigeria after flooding in the city of Mokwa in Niger State.
The flooding was triggered by a downpour that lasted for several hours on Thursday. The heavy rain caused, according to media reports, a dam to burst in a neighboring town, which further worsened the situation in Mokwa.
Many people have been forced to flee their homes due to the flooding, and the death toll may rise.
