Police responded to the shooting in the New York City borough at around 10 p.m. Saturday during the National Day celebration, the New York Police Department said in a statement.
Four children aged six, seven, 12 and 14 were injured. In addition, two women, aged 25 and 21, and two men, aged 37 and 33, were injured.
"All victims were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance personnel, where seven people are reported to be in stable condition," the police wrote, adding that the 21-year-old woman's condition is critical.
A firearm has been seized but no one has been arrested, according to police.
