The local government in Yemen's Shabwa province is urging government forces to respond forcefully to the attack, which targeted a military camp where new recruits were being trained. All the victims are said to be military personnel.
The attack is one of the deadliest in recent months and comes after several Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. On Monday, residents of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, were alerted to airstrikes, but the threat was called off less than an hour later.
