At least 33 people have been killed in drone attacks on two markets in southwestern Sudan.
Drones struck the markets in Abu Zabad and Wad Banda, an anonymous doctor at Abu Zabad hospital, one of the few health facilities in the area, told AFP.
“33 people were killed yesterday and 59 were injured,” the doctor said, adding that 30 of the injured are still being treated in the hospital.
The affected towns are in West Kordofan state, a region controlled by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). A spokesman for the rival Sudanese army told AFP that the army was not attacking civilian targets.
