The internationally recognized government of Yemen says the Houthi movement has carried out attacks against its forces in the central and eastern parts of the country, near the border with Saudi Arabia.
According to various sources, between 30 and 40 people have been killed in what is seen as a sharp escalation of the ceasefire that is believed to exist between the parties.
The civil war has been going on since 2014. More than 150,000 people, civilians and combatants, have been killed.
