One dead and at least 14 injured in commuter train accident near Barcelona, Spain

At least one person has died and at least 14 others have been injured in a commuter train accident in Catalonia, Spain, reports El País.

The accident occurred near Barcelona when a wall collapsed as a commuter train passed.

Several rescue vehicles are working at the scene.

Shortly before midnight on Tuesday evening, El País reports that the driver died and that three of the injured are in critical condition.

On Sunday, more than 40 people died when the rear carriages of a high-speed train from Málaga to Madrid derailed and ended up on the oncoming tracks, leading to a collision with another train.
