At least 15 people have been killed in at least two drone strikes on multiple vehicles in North Kordofan over the past two days. All of the victims are said to be civilians, including five women, and several of the vehicles were transporting water, according to the human rights group.
The airstrikes are taking place at the same time as deadly fighting has broken out in the southern parts of Kordofan.
Testimonies, human rights groups and the UN warn of a bloody offensive with the risk of mass abuses led by the paramilitary RSF against civilians in the state capital, El-Obeid.
El-Obeid is a key junction between the capital Khartoum and the Darfur region. Sudan has been plagued by a bloody civil war since April 2023.
