Eight members of government forces were killed and another twelve were wounded, a military source in the country said.
The Minister of Health in the Saudi-backed government also said that the rebels had attacked residential areas and refugee camps in the city of Marib, killing at least two civilians and injuring four.
The Iran-backed movement later claimed responsibility for an attack on a military facility in the province.
On Thursday, around 60 soldiers from the Saudi-led coalition were killed by the Houthis, according to a military source, in one of the deadliest days in Yemen's four-year civil war.
