The bus disappeared near the city of Datong in connection with heavy rainfall causing floods and destroyed roads. Many villages lost power and were affected by landslides. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate.
Search efforts are underway to try to find additional passengers who are supposed to have been on the bus.
At least 48 people have died during the recent week's rainy weather in northeastern China.
