Together with colleague Chris Williams, she spent just over seven hours installing a modification kit for the new solar panels and preparing the station's electrical system, the Swedish Space Agency said in a press release.

The work is an important part of upgrading the space station with next-generation solar panels that will provide more energy for research and operations.

Jessica Meir is the commander of Crew-12, which arrived at the ISS in February. Yesterday's spacewalk was Meir's fourth. On her previous spacewalk, she made history when she and Christina Koch conducted the first-ever all-female spacewalk.
