Aston Villa have started the season anything but well and are scoreless with just one point in the Premier League.
Things went better against Belgian opposition in the Champions League opener.
The team scored three times in the first half through John McGinn, Emiliano Buendia and Nicholas Jackson.
The goals also came with help from the home goalkeeper, Swiss veteran Yann Sommer, 37, who was shaky on two of them.
Norwegian Hugo Vetlesen and Nicolò Tresoldi, from the penalty spot, scored the home team's goals.
Nilsson Lindelöf played the entire match for Aston Villa.
