The film is based on Nobel Prize winner Knut Hamsun's 1917 novel of the same title, and follows Isak and Inger as they try to build a life on a farm in Northern Norway.
The main roles are played by Herbert Nordrum and Swede Asta Kamma August.
At this year's Oscars, Joachim Trier's "Sentimental Value" won in the category of Best International Feature Film.
