Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is critical of María Corina Machado being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He is now calling on Swedish authorities to "investigate" the Nobel Foundation for crimes against humanity, including those resulting from the selection of the laureate, according to the Wikileaks X account.

Wikileaks states that Assange has submitted a report to, among others, the Swedish Economic Crime Authority, in which he urges it to investigate people connected to the Nobel Foundation for a number of alleged crimes.

Assange believes that Venezuelan opposition politician María Corina Machado should not have been awarded the Peace Prize, and that the selection of the laureate is contrary to Nobel's will. He now wants Swedish authorities to, among other things, freeze Machado's prize money and seize documents related to the selection of the peace laureate.

Assange's criticism is based on Machado's support for US President Donald Trump's rhetoric and military actions against Venezuela, which he believes goes against the purpose of the prize.

Wikileaks claims that Assange sent his letter to Swedish authorities, even though it is the Norwegian Nobel Committee that selects the Peace Prize laureate.
