ASOS hacked as attackers threaten customers through app notifications

The British fashion company Asos has been hacked, and the attackers have threatened the company’s customers via push notifications.

In a notice sent through the Asos app, the hackers tell the company's data protection officer and IT department that they have carried out an attack, several British media outlets report. "Contact us, otherwise we will leak information," the hackers warn.

Sky News reports that the company's website and app are still up and running. Asos is a British company focused on fashion and cosmetics. It was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in London.

On the London Stock Exchange, the stock also plummeted by just over 12 percent after reports of a hacker attack.
