From the Italian top league to the English second league.

Kosovare Asllani has made it clear with a new club – ambitious London City Lionesses.

Her new club confirms the recruitment on its website. Asllani herself is pleased.

"I'm glad to sign for London City Lionesses and look forward to contributing to the team's success", says the 34-year-old.

It has been clear since earlier that Asllani will leave Milan after her contract with the Italian club expires on June 30. She thanked earlier in June on her Instagram.

"I have worn this historic jersey with pride. Thanks to Milan, the supporters, and my teammates for two years of memories together".

Now it's clear that her career continues in London City Lionesses. The club plays in the English second division and aims high with businesswoman Michele Kang as owner. Kang also owns Lyon's women's team and Washington Spirit.

She welcomes her latest reinforcement:

"We all look forward to seeing her at Hayes Lane this season", says Kang.

The contract is signed for two years.

"We have the opportunity to write a new chapter in the club's history, and our goal this season is to turn Michele's vision into reality on the pitch", says Asllani.

For Asllani, it will be her second stint in English football. She played for Manchester City in 2016–2017.

Position: Midfielder.

Club: London City Lionesses.

Home club: Vimmerby.

Senior clubs: Linköping 2007–2012, Chicago Red Stars 2010, Kristianstad 2012, Paris Saint-Germain 2012–2016, Manchester City 2016–2017, Linköping 2017–2019, CD Tacón/Real Madrid 2019–2022, Milan 2022–2024. London City Lionesses 2024–.
