Things are happening in the Allsvenskan despite the playing break.
The coaches are making the most moves.
First, Henning Berg left AIK – and now Jens Berthel Askou is saying goodbye to IFK Göteborg.
Askou is being recruited by the Czech league and cup champions Sparta Prague and is buying out his contract with IFK Göteborg.
This is just a year after he joined the club.
"It has been an intense, educational and developing year at IFK Göteborg. I am grateful for the time together", he says to IFK Göteborg's website.
Askou is currently in the final stages of personal negotiations with Sparta Prague, a club that will qualify for the Champions League this summer. At Sparta Prague, Askou will take on the role of assistant coach alongside the new Danish head coach Lars Friis.
"It's a big decision to move to the Czech Republic and to Sparta. Just like IFK Göteborg, it's a big club with high expectations and that's where I thrive best", says Askou.
When Liverpool replaced Jürgen Klopp with Feyenoord's Arne Slot, the Dutch club in turn recruited Brian Priske from Sparta Prague. Priske was replaced this week by his assistant coach Lars Friis, who now gets Askou by his side.
Sindre Tjelmeland, 34, is temporarily becoming IFK Göteborg's new coach. He joined as assistant coach last winter after having had the head coach job at Norwegian IK Start.
