Asian Stocks Rise Following Chinese Interest Rate Decision

China's central bank chose to let the one- and five-year reference rate remain at the current level – an expected message that the stock exchanges in Asia seem to have responded positively to.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index climbs 0.6 percent.

The composite indexes in Shanghai and Shenzhen also increase, both by 0.4 percent.

The Tokyo stock exchange is closed on Mondays.
