Asian stocks fall again as oil rises after fresh US-Iran attacks near Strait of Hormuz

For the third night in a row, the US and Iran have exchanged attacks around the Strait of Hormuz, and oil prices continue to rise after a sharp gain on Monday. Brent crude has risen 1.1 percent in about six hours, for September delivery, according to CNBC.

There are broad declines on Asian stock markets.

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.8 percent and the Topix fell 0.1 percent. South Korea's Kospi fell 1.4 percent.

In China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange is down 0.5 percent, Shenzhen is down 0.3 percent.

The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng is down 0.7 percent.
