There were mixed tones on Asia's leading stock markets in the initial trading on Wednesday.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index pointed up 0.7 percent at lunchtime. So did Shanghai's composite index, which was up 0.3 percent, while Shenzhen's composite index was down.
It was also mixed in Japan. The important Nikkei 225 index had lost 0.1 percent at lunchtime, while the broader Topix index was up 0.2 percent.
