The Japanese Nikkei 225 index is down 0.1 percent at the lunch close, while the broader Topix index is up just as much.
The Shanghai composite index is also up with 0.2 percent. For Shenzhen's equivalent, it has gone even more upwards with 0.3 percent.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index is unchanged.
The South Korean Kospi is up 0.1 percent.
