It was both boo and applause on the Asian stock exchanges in the initial Wednesday trading.
At lunchtime, both Nikkei 225 and the broader Topix index were down in Japan, 0.1 and 0.3 percent respectively. Also in Hong Kong, there were gloomy faces, where the Hang Seng index was down 1 percent.
Shanghai's composite index fluctuated around zero, while Shenzhen's composite index went against the trend and rose by 0.4 percent.
