After a few days marked by new tariff threats and volatile trade, the larger Asian stock indexes changed direction on Wednesday. In Thursday's trading, the stock exchanges continue upwards.
The South Korean Kospi had seen an increase of just over 1.7 percent by lunchtime, local time.
It's going well in Japan too, where the Nikkei 225 is up 0.9 percent at the same time.
The Chinese stock exchanges show more moderate increases. Shenzhen is rising by 0.6 percent while Shanghai is rising by 0.2 percent. The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng remains at an unchanged level.
