Asian stock markets rise broadly, led by gains in South Korea and China

Asian stock markets rise broadly, led by gains in South Korea and China

The Kospi in South Korea is rebounding after a down week and is up 2.6 percent at midday.

Stock markets in China are also doing well. Shanghai is up 0.7 percent, while Shenzhen is up 1.6 percent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng is up 1.1 percent.

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.7 percent. The Topix rose 0.9 percent.
