Asian stock markets rise as Samsung gains and oil prices climb

South Korea's Kospi is up 1.8 percent in early trading on Tuesday. Electronics giant Samsung Electronics, among others, is up 2.4 percent.

In China, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange is up 0.8 percent, while Shanghai is up 0.3 percent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng is up 0.6 percent.

The gains come despite a renewed rise in oil prices. Brent crude futures for November are up about 1.1 percent to $101.44 per barrel, according to CNBC.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange is closed for the holiday on Tuesday.
