The larger indexes in Asia are rising across the board in Friday's initial trading.
Japan's Nikkei 225 is climbing after news of a new tariff agreement between the US and Japan, which includes the US government lowering its import tariffs on Japanese cars from 27.5 percent to 15 percent. At lunchtime, the index was up 0.7 percent.
The Chinese stock exchanges are also doing well on Friday. The stock exchange in Shenzhen is increasing by 1.8 percent, while Shanghai's composite index is rising by 0.3 percent.
Hong Kong-based Hang Seng is increasing by 0.2 percent.
South Korea's Kospi saw gains during the initial hours, but in the middle of the trading day the index dropped slightly to settle just above zero.
