The leading stock indexes in Asia rose on Monday morning trading ahead of trade talks between the US and China expected later in the day, according to Bloomberg.
On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei 225 index rose around 1.0 percent and the broader Topix around 0.7 percent.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index showed a rise of 0.9 percent, while in Shanghai it rose around 0.2 percent and in Shenzhen up 0.8 percent.
