South Korea's Kospi rose 1.5 percent.
Japan's Nikkei 225 is also up 0.9 percent. The broader Topix climbed 0.7 percent.
Shenzhen fell 0.2 percent, and Shanghai also fell 0.2 percent.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng is down 0.7 percent.
