Wednesday trade on Asia's leading exchanges is scattered in uncertainty about the ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

The Tokyo stock exchange's Nikkei 225 index was at lunchtime at minus 0.1 percent and the broader Topix index had fallen 0.3 percent.

The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong, on the other hand, offered an increase of 0.8 percent.

The composite indexes in Shanghai and Shenzhen were also in the green, up 0.2 and 0.3 percent respectively.

US President Donald Trump announced during the night towards Tuesday that Iran and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire after attacking each other for twelve days. The ceasefire seems to be holding for now.
