Wall Street closed lower on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's interest rate announcement from the US Federal Reserve (Fed). However, there is no clear trend on Asian stock markets.
South Korea's Kospi is up 0.4 percent at lunchtime.
In China, Shenzhen is up 0.9 percent while Shanghai is up 0.2 percent.
However, Hong Kong's Hang Seng is down 0.1 percent, as is the Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225. The broader Topix, however, is up 0.5 percent.
