Asian stock markets end the week on a high note as US and Iran attacks are weighed against possible ceasefire agreement

On Thursday, reports emerged that the US and Iran were close to reaching an agreement to extend the ceasefire. However, earlier, during Thursday night, both the US and Iran carried out attacks on each other's forces and accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index is up 1.9 percent in Friday trading, while the broader Topix is up 1.2 percent.

South Korea's KOSPI climbed 2.3 percent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng also followed the upward trend, up 0.4 percent.

Shanghai and Shenzhen, on the other hand, were down 0.2 percent and 1.0 percent, respectively, in Friday trading.
