US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on eight European countries, including Sweden, if they are not allowed to take over Greenland.
In Japan, the stock markets are falling, with the Nikkei 225 index down 0.5 percent while the broader Topix is down 1.0 percent. South Korea's Kospi is also down 0.1 percent.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng is down 0.1 percent, while Shanghai is up 0.2 percent. Shenzhen is also up 0.8 percent.
