Several Asian stock markets rose sharply in early trading on Tuesday. The gains came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. and India would sign a trade deal.

The agreement includes a reduction in tariffs on India from 25 percent to 18 percent. India has also promised to buy $500 billion worth of American products, according to Trump.

South Korea's Kospi is up a full 5 percent after yesterday's fall of the same amount.

Japan's Nikkei 225 climbed 3.2 percent while the broader Topix rose 2.7 percent.

Shenzhen rose 0.9 percent while Shanghai climbed 0.4 percent. Hong Kong-based Hang Seng rose 0.2 percent.
