Asian stock markets began the week's last trading day with relatively small movements in a situation where many investors are waiting for the results of the negotiations on US tariffs.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 had risen by 0.7 percent, while the broader Topix index increased by 0.9 percent.
Even from South Korea's Topix index, a lukewarm spring breeze was felt as the Kospi index grew by 0.4.
It was gloomier at the composite indexes in Shanghai and Shenzhen, which decreased by 0.4 and 0.5 percent, respectively.
In Hong Kong, the stock exchange is closed for the weekend.
