Shanghai's index is down 0.8 percent and Shenzhen's is down 0.2 percent.

South Korea's Kospi is down 3.4 percent in early trading on Tuesday.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng is up 0.6 percent.

Japan's Nikkei 225 and Topix are closed on Tuesday.
