The US stock market continues to rise and set new records on Monday evening. However, those who expect the stock markets in Asia to follow in the same direction seem to need to rethink.
In China, the indexes are falling significantly. Shenzhen was down 1.1 percent at lunchtime, local time, while the Shanghai composite index is falling by 0.9 percent. The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng is falling by 0.6 percent.
Things are going slightly better in South Korea, where the Kospi is increasing by 0.3 percent.
The stock market in Japan is closed on Tuesday due to a public holiday.
