From beds that were too short to not enough transport to going to the wrong venues, complaints have been many and wide-ranging during the Asian Games.
But the organiser denies that this affected the quality of the games.
"The athletes cannot perform if they do not sleep well, and they cannot perform if they do not have good transportation options," says Husain al-Musallam, pointing to the more than 50 world records that were broken during the games.
But it wasn't just the accommodation, which consisted of wooden barracks, hotels and a cruise ship, that drew criticism.
For example, the wrong national anthem was played for the South Korean field hockey team before their match against Bangladesh. Other national teams have reported waiting times of up to six hours before being taken from the airport to their accommodation.
