Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus won the WTA tournament in Miami when she defeated American Jessica Pegula in straight sets in the final, 7–5, 6–2.
The first months of the year have been shaky for world number one Sabalenka, who, before Saturday evening's encounter, had lost four of the five finals she had played so far in 2025.
But in the meeting with Pegula, the Belarusian eventually managed to find her game and could, after a wavering first set, take home the second set relatively easily.
