Göran Ringbom is perhaps best known as the frontman of the band Di Sma Undar Jårdi, which had a big hit with the song "Snabbköpskassörskan" in 1985.
The song was written under the pseudonym of Tomas Ledin and had elements of Gotland folk music, something the band themselves called "rauk'n'roll".
"The Supermarket Cashier" was on Svensktoppen on Swedish Radio for 27 weeks.
Ringbom left the band a few years later, but continued to be a well-known musician from Gotland. He also worked as a restaurant manager and as a potter.
Göran Ringbom turned 81 years old.
