The world's largest tennis arena - Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York - is set to get even bigger. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is seeking loan guarantees. According to Bloomberg, the USTA is in talks with investors about borrowing $400 million for the renovation.
The USTA has previously announced that it will completely renovate the tennis facility where the US Open, a Grand Slam tournament, is held annually. The total cost is estimated at $1.1 billion.
The plans include building 2,000 new seats on the center court of Arthur Ashe Stadium, which, with almost 24,000 seats, is already the largest tennis arena in the world.
