The Swede gave the home team a flying start in the 3–2 meeting against Kairat. In the second minute, the striker made it 1–0, and just over half an hour later he then set up Gabriel Martinelli to increase the lead to 3–1.
Gyökeres was replaced in the 77th minute.
Full points means the London club rounds off the regular season as winners with the maximum 24 points and is through to the round of 16. Arsenal is the first club to win all eight games. Second-placed Bayern Munich, who lost 2-1 away to PSV Eindhoven, remained on 21 points, and Liverpool, 6-0 at home to Qarabag, finished third on 18 points.
The final will be played in Budapest on May 30.
